SNI Asphalto to mastic Bitumen

SNI ASPHALTO MASTIC BITUMEN MEMBRANES cover a range of high performance modified bitumen reinforced waterproofing and protective coating membranes having (APP) Attactic polypropylene and a robust nonwoven polyester reinforcement.

SNI ASPHALTO MASTIC BITUMEN MEMBRANES are made by saturating and coating a robust reinforcement in the range of 140-200 GSM2 non woven polyester with a homogenous blend of APP (attactic polypropylene), distilled bitumen and stabilizers. The mixture is carefully produced under controlled conditions to ensure its suitability at high temperatures and its flexibility at lower temperatures. Membranes are impermeable to water, easy to apply and maintain, with the option of a decorative finish for exposed use.

The top surface of the membrane is covered with thin layer of PE film. The bottom surface is covered with flammable PE film.

The membranes are produced in thickness of 2mm, 3 mm, 4 mm, 5mm and 6mm in standard length of 10 m and 1 m width

USES: SNI ASPHALTO MASTIC BITUMEN MEMBRANES are ideal for bridge deck waterproofing, low slope concrete roofs, balconies, multi storied car parks, for lining sewerage canals, sub grade structures and any concrete or cemented flat surface that needs waterproofing or protective coating.

APPLICATION METHODOLOGY:

The surface to be waterproofed must be completely cleaned and should be free of dust, Oil, protruding nibs, nails etc

A coat of ESN primer is then applied to the concrete surface at the rate of 200-300 g/m2. The primer must be allowed to dry completely before fixing the membrane.

SNI ASPHALTO MASTIC BITUMEN MEMBRANES are fixed by torch welding known as torch-on application. The rolls are lined up, thereafter spread open over the area to which they are to be fixed. The rolls are laid so that the next overlaps along the side up.

The membrane is then rolled without changing the given orientation. They are then unrolled once again while heating the underside sufficiently to cause Surface melting.

The lap joints should be heated from the top to produce a thin head of molten bitumen at the Seam, Which Should then be smoothened out with a trowel.

The Tools required are Gas torch for welding & related cylinder, knife for trimming the membrane, a trowel with a rounded tip, making aids and gloves.
